Raising Awareness on the Silver Economy Awards and the SEED project at eHealth Week 2017 in Malta
Representatives of the project coordinator empirica and the ECHAlliance have presented SEED and promoted the Silver Economy Awards during eHealth Week 2017, which was held on May 10-12 at the InterContinental Conference Centre in St. Julian’s, Malta.
This year the annual high level conference was organised by the Maltese Ministry for Health, the European Commission, HIMSS Europe and the WHO Regional Office for Europe, focusing on “Data for Health: the key to personalised sustainable care”. As such the event has again gathered stakeholders from across the globe to address topics related to eHealth, wellbeing and ageing and – with respect to this year’s focus – to explore the changing ways in which personal health data is created, stored, shared and used.
The SEED project was represented in the EU projects pavilion which was open to all conference attendees ranging from patients and hospital staff to high level policy-makers and industry representatives. The project representatives had the opportunity to inform interested delegates on the launch of the first European-level award scheme that aims to reward excellence to innovative ICT solutions responding to the dynamics of demographic changes, and to exchange views in fruitful discussions on the project’s benefits and process. In this context, conference participants interested in applying for the first Silver Economy Awards were able to receive quality feedback on the application process and timeframe as well as on eligibility criteria for submissions.
The Silver Economy Awards have been also promoted at the Speaker’s Corner at the second day of the conference. Jointly organised by HIMSS Europe, the European Commission and SEED partner ECHAlliance, the Speaker’s Corner offered the project representatives the chance to take the stage highlighting the most important facts and aims of the project, and pitching the call for applications for the award that will open in June 2017.
Moreover, the SEED representatives had the opportunity to raise the interest of conference attendees during the “Tea Time with Startups – HIMSS Partner Session” and to network with potential sponsors in the exhibition hall of the conference.
