Fruitful discussions at first SEED Advisory Board meeting in Brussels
The SEED Advisory Board met for the first time on 6 March 2017 in Brussels, right on time to support members of the SEED consortium in further shaping the Silver Economy Award concept, as well as defining the domains/sectors comprising the Silver Economy in Europe.
After a short introduction given by Anne-Sophie Parent from AGE Platform, discussions arose around how to ensure the creation of a Silver Economy movement that will cover all the industry sectors concerned. Participation of DigitalEurope will serve that direction as well as the organisation of webinars to raise awareness and mobilise the industry. The work to be conducted on sponsoring will also support that movement.
Another topic of interest and constructive discussions was the need for extending the knowledge around the Silver Economy as this is not a well-known concept and still very abstract. Further to this, Advisory Board members gave excellent input to the composition of the high-level jury presented by Julia Wadoux from AGE. This included the need to liaise with Reference Sites of the EIP AHA, a gender-balanced composition of the jury and industry involvement.
The Advisory Board brings together key individuals active in silver economy networks and fora external to the immediate project consortium. Its aim is to provide strategic advice to the consortium and contribute to the wide dissemination of the awards. Together, Advisory Board members will guarantee outreach to key European Network such as the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healhty Ageing Action Groups and full geographic coverage of the European Union.
